Bruce was a young boxer that could no longer be kept by his owner who had cancer. He was very loved by our family and moved on to a home with one of our fellow horse angels.
Barbie is a very lucky pony, dumped into the Eugene Kill Pen. She came to the rescue and was adopted by a loving family. She is now spoiled and loved like all Barbies should be.
Durdee dog was in the rescue for several months. He was prey driven and did not have many people ask about him. One day his angels showed up and it was love (on both parts) at first sight. Durdee picked his human. He even goes to work with his new dad everyday. No longer prey driven his new drive is to serve his alpha human leader.
One of the Nevada 12 Amigo has started training and is doing well. Though he does not yet have a true family he is with a trainer that will give him a future. He has an identity, he is not one of the voiceless horses shipped to slaughter every year.
Angel and Joey were part of a group of mares and foals taken to auction to be sold separately and split apart. We managed to out bid the kill buyer for the mare and had to out bid the crowd to keep her 3 month old Joey with her. Winning the bid I called on a soft-hearted trainer that had room in her barn. Today both Joey and Angel though no longer together are in great homes. We get constant updates on Angel as she is part of a local Posse!
Anne was dumped at auction. The only thing said about her by her owner was that she is a mess. Old and what appeared to be very crippled we took her one when she was purchased by one of our supporters. We thought we would be helping her cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Equine outreach offered her sanctuary. We arranged for her vet visit, had her feet done, and arranged for her transport. She is now very happy, living out her days in sanctuary with regular visites from her human friends.
Cassie was found by the home where she was born. For Christmas 2013 she went home to Arizona. She will live out the rest of her days with her family. They were so thankful she was saved from slaughter.
Baby Moony was adopted to a great home in Corvallis. Every time I go visit family I drive right past her home.
Beautiful Josie 8-year-old Anglo Arabian mare went to an adoptive home as a girls birthday present. She is now being used for gaming and 4H.
